Deposition
Deposition is how sediments are put down, or deposited.
When sediments are put down, it can form new soil, new land, deltas, alluvial fans, and sand dunes.
This is the Nile delta, where sediments picked up by this behemoth of a river are put down.
This is an alluvial fan. It is sort of like a delta, but the alluvial fan is temporary.
This is a sand dune formed by deposition.
This is new soil formed by deposition. The brown area is the soil.
